Under the general direction of the CLO/Vice President of Lending and Mortgage Manager, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the MLO solicits mortgages for the credit union for portfolio or sale on the secondary market. This position will have primary responsibility for mortgage origination in Hampden County of Western, MA. The successful candidate must have a proven record of mortgage origination experience in this county and be prepared to make an immediate impact in the market.
Credit and underwriting skills and/or experience a must. Knowledge of mortgage lending and mortgage related delivery channel. Knowledge of secondary market guidelines. FHLB, VA, FHA, USDA, Mass. Housing required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Knowledge of all Windows applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).College degree or equivalent experience and education. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Mortgage Lending. MORTGAGE LOAN ASSOCIATE - Springfield
To assist with the various paper work in the Mortgage Loan Department. Under the general supervision of the Mortgage Loan Department Manager, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets established standards (including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, length of employment), and assists the mortgage department as necessary.
Working knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications (Outlook, WORD, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of specific credit union applications (Insight, COCC, etc.). Knowledge of loan operating systems (Calyx, Sound, etc.). Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, fax machine, postage machine, photocopier and typewriter. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Good organization and communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to five years of experience in a financial institution preferably with at least one year of experience in mortgage lending. Government loan knowledge preferred. Secondary Market knowledge preferred
