Loan Servicing Associate          Position Description:To assist with various clerical functions in the Consumer Loan Department in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs basic information verifications as well as various basic filing duties.   
  1. Responsible for the data entry of insurance company information, verifying that all information is accurate, and deductibles are in place for comprehensive and collision and are within credit union limits.  Contacts insurance agencies for new declaration pages when insurance lapses occur; follows up to verify receipt.  Maintains all cancelled and reinstated policies.
  2. Maintains the FDI Titling Website.  Perfects liens on all auto loans.  Verifies all names, addresses, year, make, model, and VIN numbers are identical to the loan note.  Responsible for maintaining the “waiting documents” drawer and for mailing out title amendment forms to the D.O.T. 
  3. Responsible for the maintenance of all new consumer loan files on a daily basis.  Includes checking of regulations, rates, frequency, payment methods, collateral values, signatures, scanned documents, dates and disbursement methods.
  4. Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reporting; including VRU transactions, ORCC reject list, unapplied, payoff, zero balance, pre-authorization reports.  Applies payments as received, making necessary corrections and performing required transactions.
  5. Files denial and/or payoff folders in office as well as archives.  Purges files when necessary. 
  6. Responsible for basic filing consisting of receipts, insurance policies, loan folders, correspondence, etc. 
 Qualification/Skill Requirements:        Ability to read, write and accurately perform mathematical computations.  Working knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications (Outlook, WORD, Excel, etc.)  Working knowledge of specific credit union applications (Insight, COCC, etc.)  Ability to open share accounts.  Responsible for maintaining Credit Union’s quality service standards.  Knowledge of credit union’s system, its structure, common language and acronyms, philosophy and mission statement.  Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, fax machine, postage machine, photocopier and typewriter.  Excellent organizational skills.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Education and/or Experience:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.  One year of experience in a business setting.   Higher education may be substituted for work experience. 

Member Service Representatives ~ Part-time  (posted 4/3/2013)
Freedom Credit Union is seeking to fill a part-time/float member service representative position to be based in our Northampton Branch. Candidates must have high school or equivalent, excellent customer service/communication skills, and a minimum of 6 months experience in a financial institution.  Experience in branch operations preferred.  Bi-lingual strongly preferred.  Up to 29.0 hours per week. $12.82 per hour to start; step increases, paid vacation time.

Training and Development Officer (Posted 4/17/2013)  The primary purpose of this position is to develop a highly effective team of employees and ensure that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members.   Through training, coaching and leadership each employee will reach their highest potential while meeting professional and organizational goals. 

Education/Experience  Professional, well-developed interpersonal and management skills are essential for projecting a positive image. Experience in developing and implementing effective Train the Trainer programs, Job Instruction Training, adult learning principles and conducting Training Needs Assessments. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and regulations; ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and present information to a wide range of audiences; and ability to respond professionally to varied inquiries or complaints from employees. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, lesson plans and evaluation documents.  Thorough knowledge of all credit union products, services and procedures.  A Bachelor’s Degree in business, education or psychology.  A minimum of five years of experience in technical, interpersonal and sales training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Proficiency with computer software applications is also required.  Experience in a Financial Institution.  CPLP certification preferred.   

 

Collector (Posted 4/17/13)  Under general supervision of the Vice President of Lending, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs basic clerical functions in the Collections Department.  Has thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and guidelines concerning areas of job responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:  Monitoring delinquent accounts and fund levels in accounts, monitoring delinquent consumer and real estate loans and brings to the attention of the Loan Collector, Mortgage Department Manager, and/or other appropriate individual(s), producing Notices on all delinquent loans as necessary reviewing specific member accounts (Chapter 7 Bankruptcy reaffirmations and Chapter 13 filings) on a weekly basis for the purpose of monitoring payment arrangements, locating new information on skip accounts (i.e., telephone numbers, places of employment, relatives, etc.). Requirements:Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), experience with the essential duties of this position, through knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with other employees, members, and vendors. A high level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively. Knowledge of credit union, its structure, common language and acronyms, philosophy and mission statement. Ability to operate standard office equipment and tools, such as personal computer, fax machine, postage machine, photocopier. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Collection experience in a financial services environment preferred.
