This month, we are raising funds for the annual Gift of Warmth—Blanket, Clothing and Pajama Drive, which is put on by The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
Since the launch of The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ A Bed for Every Child campaign, more than 9,000 children within the Commonwealth have received a new bed of their own! The positive impact on their health, well-being and education has been tremendous. They wake up happy from a comfortable, good night’s rest, no longer go to school tired and can focus better on their studies. As the coalition’s charitable partners, Massachusetts Credit Unions have been generous supporters of A Bed for Every Child and have helped to expand the initiative throughout the state.
As much as funding for beds is important, so are the special touches that make a bed comfy and cozy; the pillow, blanket, teddy bear and a good book to read. Once again, the Massachusetts Social Responsibility Committee is promoting the Gift of Warmth—Blanket, Clothing and Pajama Drive during the month of February. Since 2011, Massachusetts Credit Unions have donated more than 9,100 blankets and thousands of warm clothing items, including pajamas, for many in need throughout the state.
Give the Gift of Warmth
Please consider participating by donating new blankets, clothing and pajamas that will provide comfort and warmth for a child who receives a bed. Throughout the month of February, we are accepting donations at all our branches. Funds raised will be used to purchase new blankets, clothing and pajamas for area children. You can also donate online at abedforeverychild.org/ccua or order blankets, clothing or pajamas and have them delivered to A Bed for Every Child, c/o MA Coalition for the Homeless, 73 Buffum Street, Lynn, MA 01902.
As always, thank you for your support and generous spirit!
