We know this is a challenging time for everyone, and with Governor Charlie Baker’s emergency order on Monday requiring all businesses that do not provide COVID-19 essential services to close their physical workplaces and facilities for two weeks beginning on Tuesday, March 24, things are likely to get worse before they get better. We understand that there may be instances where members find themselves facing financial difficulties as a result of this situation, and we are here to help.
With this in mind, we will be offering several fee waivers and other changes.
TemporaryFee Waivers
Beginning on March 31, 2020 and until further notice, we will waive fees for:
- overdraft transfers from savings to checking
- inactive accounts
- minimum balance and activity requirements for our Freedom NOW and Money Market accounts
- early withdrawal of Holiday and Vacation Club accounts
- early withdrawals from certificates of deposits
Debit Card Rewards
Effective May 1, 2020, for members with our NOW Checking Account, we will continue to reimburse ATM surcharge fees from networks outside our AllPoint and SUM networks, up to $15 per month. We will also continue to offer 1% cash back on debit card purchases each month, but with a $15-per-month cap.
Loan Deferment Program
We are working on a loan deferment program for loan members who are unable to make their monthly loan payments as a result of the temporary hardship due to the COVID-19 outbreak. If you are in this situation, please call our loan department at (844) 316-6791.
As always, we encourage to reach out if you have any questions so we can help find a solution. Please call our Member Contact Center at (413) 739-6961 or toll free at (800) 821-0160 to speak with a representative by phone or video chat.
