Deadline: March 6, 2026
The Pioneer Valley Chapter’s Scholarship Committee of the Cooperative Credit Union Association will once again award eight $2,000 Chapter Scholarships to high school seniors.
To be eligible:
- Student must be a high school senior who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Applicant or parent/guardian must be a member of the sponsoring credit union.
- Each applicant must complete a current 2026 Scholarship Application form and submit it with all the other required materials to any Freedom Credit Union branch by March 6, 2026.
Freedom Credit Union will select its top two applications and submit them to the Pioneer Valley Chapter’s Scholarship Committee. That Committee will select the scholarship winners, evaluating each applicant on the following criteria: academic achievement, extracurricular/community activities and essay.
Scholarship Application Requirements
Students must submit all the following items to a Freedom Credit Union branch by March 6, 2026, in order to qualify for consideration:
- Completed application.
- List of extracurricular school activities and community service.
- A typewritten essay in 500 words or less on the following topic: “How can technology improve financial services for young people while maintaining the personal relationships that credit unions value?”
- An official high school academic transcript of grades, including midyear/first semester senior grades, completed by their counselor.
- Standardized (SAT, ACT or both) testing scores, either on official high school transcript or a copy from a testing agency.
