Cooperative Credit Union Association & Pioneer Valley Chapter 2020 College Scholarship Applications
On behalf of the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, Freedom Credit Union is currently accepting applications for the annual Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program provides an opportunity for our members and/or our member’s children to be awarded money toward higher education. A total of nine scholarships will be awarded in 2020. The Cooperative Credit Union Association will award one (1) $1,500 scholarship and the Pioneer Valley Chapter will award eight (8) $2,000 scholarships.
Any graduating high school senior who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program for the 2020-2021 academic year is eligible to apply for a Cooperative Credit Union Association/Pioneer Valley Chapter scholarship.
Applicants or a parent/guardian must be a Freedom Credit Union member. Members can obtain an application at any of our branch locations.
Students must submit the following items with their completed applications. All items requested must be received in order for the application to qualify for consideration.
- Completed application.
- List of extracurricular school activities and community service.
- Students must submit a typewritten essay in 500 words or less on the following topic: “What is the best financial advice you ever received? Who gave it to you and when? Did you follow it at the time or not? Why do you think this piece of advice is applicable to your life?”
- An official high school academic transcript of grades, including midyear/first semester senior grades, completed by their counselor.
- Standardized (SAT, ACT or both) testing scores (either on official high school transcript or a copy from a testing agency).
