Freedom Credit Union is dedicating its October Month of Giving to Rays of Hope, a western Massachusetts organization that has raised more than $17.2 million to support breast cancer care, research and education in the region.
Throughout October, Freedom Credit Union members and community members can make donations to Rays of Hope at any Freedom Credit Union branch. The effort coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and gives the community an opportunity to support programs that help patients, survivors and families affected by breast cancer.
“Rays of Hope has made an extraordinary impact in western Massachusetts for more than 30 years, and we are proud to support its mission through our October Month of Giving,” said Glenn Welch, president of Freedom Credit Union. “Keeping these resources local means our communities directly benefit from the generosity of our neighbors.”
Since its inception in 1994, Rays of Hope has supported individuals throughout their breast cancer journeys through the Baystate Health Breast Network. Funds support research at the Rays of Hope Center for Breast Cancer Research, state-of-the-art equipment, breast health programs, outreach and education, patient and survivor support and grants for complementary therapies and cancer programs through community partners.
All funds raised through Rays of Hope remain in western Massachusetts.
Freedom Credit Union encourages anyone who would like to support Rays of Hope with a donation to visit any of its branches throughout October.
